I'm no tree hugger but earth day had a profound effect on me that I didn't quite expect. Saving the environment is great and all but maybe my real motivation is to just save money and stick it to the oil man. Whatever the real reason, I have done enough research to convince myself that I could build a simple electric car for under $10,000. This is much less than many of the companies that are poised to sell electric cars to the public in the US.
