Poor Neglected Truck

The truck has not made any progress in the past month. I'm too busy starting other projects I don't plan on finishing! The back yard is the priority right now. The retaining wall to level out the back porch area is almost complete. It's going to take a truck load of dirt to bring that up to grade. Then pour the patio and build to pergola. Cedar was the original choice of lumber but I think that blows the budget so I think it will be painted instead. And then the masterpiece...A gas/wood fire pit and gas lantern lights on the pergola.

Work around the house.

Car stuff put on hold for a few weekends as I make a few improvements around the house. I actually got approval for all three of my projects, the Architectural Committee seemed almost eager to put me to work. Makes me wonder what else I could get them to approve, maybe a 40 foot tall wind turbine electric generator! I will be adding on to my driveway for a little more parking space, adding a patio and pergola, and finally a nice big shed to park the mower, yard tools and misc storage.

Bad luck comes in 3's

Its true, bad luck is a set of bastard triplets. My sons baseball team ended its season on a sour note. Brake booster died on the vette. Now the tranny is going. This happens once every quarter, and if this is the worst then I think I can survive.

edit: I have to update my transmission problem since I fixed it and it only cost me my pride, so still on the look out for bad luck event number 3.

Ah, Birthdays

I drive my Corvette to work everyday and just love the experience. The car has over 130000 miles on it and has its moments when I curse it. But, I keep fixing it and getting it back on the road. Lately I have been loving how the car is driving, mainly due to the replacement of the radiator. The car runs so much better when the temps are under control. I should have know the fun would not last. Today, on my birthday the brake booster died. Lucky for me I was just a couple blocks from my house. Guess this will be my first how-to post in the Corvette forum.

Earth Day Fallout

I'm no tree hugger but earth day had a profound effect on me that I didn't quite expect. Saving the environment is great and all but maybe my real motivation is to just save money and stick it to the oil man. Whatever the real reason, I have done enough research to convince myself that I could build a simple electric car for under $10,000. This is much less than many of the companies that are poised to sell electric cars to the public in the US. Some are listed below with a link to a new section in the forums for the upcoming electric car disaster/project.
